About Us
OUR STORY
Living Christ Church, formerly known as The Gathering Church, began as a small outreach ministry to the students and community of Millersville, PA. Started by Pastor Juan Carlos Morales in 2011, Pastor Eric Weaver was an integral part of the ministry team from its inception. In 2019, Pastor Morales went on to plant Christ Alone Fellowship in Lancaster City. The Gathering continued at its Millersville location with Pastor Eric and Pastor Luke leading. The Gathering then became Living Christ Church in 2021 and moved locations in order to serve the town of East Petersburg, as well as the surrounding communities of Lancaster County. Leadership of the church now rests with Pastor Eric Weaver and the Board of Deacons.
OUR STATEMENT OF FAITH
God
God is holy. He is set apart from His creation. He is the Creator. He has no beginning, and He has no end. God is one in three Persons. He seeks His own glory in everything, and everything was made for His glory.
Trinity
The Trinity consists of three distinct persons, The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. United as one God, the three are coexistent and coequal.
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, who is fully God, became a man. He did not cease to be God but was one hundred percent man and one hundred percent God. He was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Spirit as the scriptures declared. He made His dwelling among us. Though He was tempted, He remained sinless. He died on the cross and was literally resurrected on the third day. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father where He makes intercession for us. He is to be worshipped, adored, honored, revered and regarded as our supreme treasure. We believe in the literal return of Jesus Christ.
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired, infallible and inerrant word of God in the original manuscripts. It is the final authority and the written revelation of God that consists of 66 canonized books. It is complete in itself and all opinions, thoughts, ideas, philosophies and practices are subject to it.
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God where the sinner is reconciled unto his Creator. Man is saved from the wrath of God and given eternal life by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, not by our own works. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9
Sin
Sin is the breaking of God’s law – a rebellion against Him. The wages of sin is death and separation from God. Because of sin, man’s nature is utterly depraved. Only Jesus Christ can make atonement for sin.
Man’s condition
Unsaved: None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one. Their throat is an open grave; they use their tongues to deceive. The venom of asps is under their lips Their mouth is full of curses and bitterness. Their feet are swift to shed blood; in their paths are ruin and misery, and the way of peace they have not known. There is no fear of God before their eyes. Romans 3:10-18
Regenerated: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Divine Election
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of His will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which He has blessed us in the Beloved. Ephesians 1:3-6
Marriage
Marriage is a holy union between one man and one woman established as a covenant with God.
Water Baptism
We believe baptism to be a covenant sign of salvation. Baptism does not enable salvation nor does it complete it.
OUR LEADERSHIP
Eric Weaver: Pastor
A lover of God, Pastor Eric is passionate about family, the Church and most importantly, knowing God and making Him known through the unadulterated preaching of His Word.
A father of 9 and faithful husband to his wife Connie, he spends his time preaching, studying, in prayer, and loving people.
Two portions of scripture that he lives by are:
“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.” – 1 Cor 13:12
“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire[a] in his temple.”- Psalm 27:4
Abner Gonzalez: Deacon
Abner, with the help of his wife Flora, is a believer who spends his time leading worship at LCC, ministering the word through Hip Hop and running a restaurant with his wife, named Flora’s Restaurant. He is also the host of “Cross Examine” a Podcast with Curt Kennedy. He is a father of 3 and grandfather of 2.
